News & Results

5th May - Trojans (Home) - win

Trojans batted first and scored 97 off 20 overs with all 10 outfield players getting 2 overs each. Ropley chased down the runs, scoring 99 for 2.

9th June - St Cross C - WIn

Ropley batted first getting 118 for 9 and some very full fast straight bowling from Ropley saw St Cross C all out for 76.

23rd June Compton & Chandlers Ford away - win

C&CF set an impressive score of 119-5, aided by a few too many wides! Ropley batted well and put together some good partnerships throughout their innings with good running between the wickets. Some hefty blows towards the end meant Ropley ended up as winners in the 16th over on 120-6

27th June Hedge End away - lost (scores tied loosing on more wickets lost)

Ropley batted first and despite some impressive fast bowling from Hedge End, accumulated runs steadily, making 107-9. Hedge End never looked in trouble loosing few wickets. However some tight bowling and strong fielding always kept the runs under control. The last ball of the match saw them scamper a single to tie the scores with Hedge End winning on less wickets lost at 107-5

7th July - Bishops Waltham (Home) - Win

Ropley batted first and we consistently scored across our 20 overs, making 142-6. With everyone having a bowl we manged to restrict Bishops Waltham to 73-7. A great game played in good spirit. Well done to everyone who played.

14th July - Twyford (away) - Lost

For the first time this season we were short of players, but in the true spirit of cricket we got the game on and took to the field with 8!
Having won the toss and had a few fielders subbed to us we bowled first, with 7 of our 8 players getting a bowl. Twyford made 117 for 3, aided by a few too many extras. Ropley made good progress but were unable to accelerate against the Twyford bowlers, ending up on 81-3 in reply. A good game and team performance. Well done everyone.

21st July - Hedge End (home) - Win

Ropley with 10 players, won the toss and elected to field. Some super tight bowling and fielding saw us restrict Hedge End to 91- 7  Despite some good runs from Fin at the top of the order we never really got going, until Louis & Thomas Gray took the game by the scruff of the neck in the lower order. A nice cameo by Dom coming in at number 10 helped see us across the line and we smashed it with on wicket in hand! (phew), much to the relief of all.
